From The Peace Corps' Strategic Plan: "TPCs' mission is to promote world peace and friendship. While much has changed in the world since the Peace Corps’ founding in 1961, its mission has not. The Peace Corps’ three core goals are as relevant today as they were over four decades ago: 1. To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women 2. To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served 3. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans."
